NEpali Greens Party Election 2017

In 2017, the Nepali Greens contested the federal election for the first time, fielding two female candidates, Rachana Shrestha and Smita Acharya. Both candidates were provided training in building their confidence, public speaking skills and media coverage. The Greens campaign focussed on gender equality, the right to housing, the environment and climate change. The Greens succeeded in promoting Greens values to thousands of people through over 20 community-based assemblies and online media. Overall, the Greens learnt many lessons from the election experience and are preparing for the upcoming 2022 election.



The Green Party of Lebanon Election 2018

In 2018, the Green Party of Lebanon contested the General Election for the first time, fielding two female candidates, Nada Zaarour, the party president and Vanda Shadid Ramia, and one male candidate, Mazen Nasreddine. The Greens campaign included door-to-door visits, local meetings and online media exposure and coverage. The election experience has provided a roadmap for future candidature with the Greens now preparing for the upcoming 2022 election.
