The unseen suffering of the Palestinian people for so long has given rise to genocide, disrespect for human values, and the destruction of a peaceful way of life, which is the inherent right of every human being in the world. Palestine is a beautiful land, symbolizing acceptance of various ethnicities and diversity. However, when greed and the desire to control its natural resources take over, peace is lost.
The Palestinian people have lived in fear for years, in constant anxiety and self-doubt. They endure a situation that causes severe trauma, especially for women and children. Children have to live with limited food, inadequate schools, and a substandard life. At night, families gather to pray together, forgive each other, and bid farewell, unsure if they will meet again in the morning. Their homes may be bombed by Israel, or they may be killed by Israeli forces, experiencing sexual violence, rape, and witnessing their children being shot in front of their eyes. They have endured these conditions for years.
In light of the humanitarian crimes endured by the Palestinian people, especially by women and children, the Asia Pacific Green Women’s Network issues a call for humanitarian aid and solidarity for Palestine. As a green women’s community in the Asia Pacific, APGWN invites countries, green parties, and humanitarian organizations worldwide to collaborate on humanitarian actions to assist Palestine.
APGWN believes that solidarity, when undertaken together with the strength of women worldwide, is a powerful tool to shout to the world that humanity is the highest value and the pinnacle of civilization for a nation and its people. Degrading others is an evil act that must be eradicated from this earth, and this is what the Asia Pacific Green Women’s Network (APGWN) is doing.
Today, on March 8, as the world commemorates International Women’s Day, a day that should be free from any crimes and violence against women, the Asia Pacific Green Women’s Network calls for urgent action to pressure Israel to stop its inhumane attacks on the Palestinian people. Attacking them while waiting in line for food donations, shooting Palestinians while praying in mosques, or bombing hospitals is cruel, disgraceful, and inhumane. Therefore, nations worldwide must unite to actively take measures to stop Israel and end this war.
To our brothers and sisters in Palestine, be patient. We are currently working hard to strengthen our grip, stand together, and shout even louder so that you can soon run freely on your land, in your independent homeland. Where you can play with your children in your yard without fear of losing that beauty tomorrow.
