“It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Jeanette Fitzsimons, the first female Green Party co-leader. We extend our deepest condolences to her husband Harry, their children and grandchildren.
Jeanette was a bastion of what we believe in and a signpost for what we want in this world. Her infectious spirit and commitment to making her country a better place has been vital in growing the Aotearoa environmental movement into what it is today, as well as inspiring change in the region and across the globe. She has paved the way to help change not only laws, but the hearts and minds of thousands. We will miss her greatly.”
